Harvest Recovery

To start the class we encourage students to write down their prayer requests on prayer cards and turn them in. They then share verbal testimony of what God is doing in their lives. This is not the time for war stories, but a time to express the victories God is giving. This is a key opportunity for leaders to listen and learn the spiritual temperature of their students. But it is also a time for students to encourage one another and rejoice in what God is doing in their lives.

During the next segment we break up into small groups: men with men, and ladies with ladies. Here in these groups they find accountability and the chance to bear one another’s burdens. We encourage them to be transparent and share struggles from their lives. To offer biblical solutions, the leader of these groups is trained to not only offer biblical answers, but to encourage others in the group to offer support. They are also encouraged to get involved in a solid biblical recovery curriculum in these groups.

During the third segment of the class, we have a message from the Bible that is relevant to finding victory in Christ over sin issues the students are facing. The director of the program teaches from our ministries textbook, called Nevertheless I Live. Each week we see people challenge from God’s word and souls saved as they respond during the preaching time.
